This rapé from the Kuntanawa tradition is a special blend that combines Sabia Mapacho and the finest Tsunu ashes from the upper Jurua region. Tsunu is known for providing strength and stamina, aiding in the stability of both body and mind. Rapé heats the body, assisting in the expulsion of toxins, but it is important to use it in moderation to avoid overdoing it.
The blend also incorporates flowers from a palm tree called Jarina, or Phytelephas aequatorialis, known as Tagua. The seeds of the Jarina palm are popularly known as vegetable ivory and are widely used in regional handicrafts. Vegetable ivory is a sustainable and botanical alternative to “real” ivory, with texture and color similar to animal ivory.
Jarina flowers have a delightful aroma, used in the production of local floral waters. Due to their volatility, preserving their scent is a true art, which makes few people use them. Flowers, unlike leaves and seeds, usually bloom only once a year, making the preservation of the aroma a challenge. Our makers master this art, allowing us to supply this beautiful medicine year-round.
