The Kuntanawa Apuxuri rapé is a carefully crafted blend that combines Tsunu ashes, organic Mói tobacco, and Apuxuri leaves. According to the Kuntanawa maker, this rapé is effective in relieving headaches, muscle pain, and joint pain, providing overall muscle relaxation. The combination of ingredients is meticulously selected to offer a healing experience that aligns the body and mind, promoting a state of well-being and tranquility.
The Kuntanawa identify themselves as the People of the Coconut, an ethnic group located in the state of Acre, within the Alto Juruá and Rio Tejo indigenous reserve, in the municipality of Marechal Thaumaturgo. Distributed across the villages of Kuntamanã and 7 Estrelas, their population is estimated to be around 400 members. Descendants of the Pano linguistic branch, the Kuntanawa faced a strong offensive in the early 20th century with the implementation of rubber plantations in their territories, resulting in only five survivors. Under the leadership of patriarch Seu Milton and his wife Dona Mariana, they began the process of rebuilding their people, preserving their traditions and culture.
